Samuel Mabe is the founder and culinary force behind Portsmouth Private Chefs, a bespoke private dining service dedicated to delivering refined, restaurant-quality experiences across Portsmouth and the South Coast.
With over a decade of hands-on experience in professional kitchens, Samuel combines classical training, creative flair, and disciplined leadership to bring elevated dining into private homes, exclusive venues, and intimate events. He is a graduate of South Downs College, holding a Level 3 Diploma in Professional Cookery, and developed his classical foundations under the mentorship of respected chefs including Alex Aitken (The Jetty, Christchurch) and Sarah King, whose culinary influence spans New York, Dubai, and London.
Samuel’s career has traversed fine dining, Michelin-recommended kitchens, and high-end gastropubs, shaping a chef known for adaptability, precision, and integrity. He has led kitchen brigades, designed bespoke tasting menus, and delivered tailored culinary experiences for private clients, estates, and corporate hosts, always with a focus on detail and personal service.
As Founder & Culinary Director of Portsmouth Private Chefs, Samuel’s philosophy extends beyond cooking. Each experience is built on craftsmanship, seasonal produce, and a deep respect for both client and ingredient. His approach balances creativity with consistency, ensuring every service reflects professionalism, warmth, and understated luxury.
